Ok, I've read Tim’s book. (A blog I follow recommended it) He had some tricks, some I knew, some were nice to find and I enjoyed a few of the urls he gave out.
But I am still lost on one thing, and I'd like some advice in mixing a proper drink without so much bitters.
Or Muse resurrection in my case.
I was never a business guru by any means,
But I've done the Internet thing for a while. Some dynamics seem to have changed in the last few years again on the money front, but I don't have a problem with being savvy about most things of the "internet" :web development, seo, oscommerce or other ecommerce solutions, gateways, adsense, adwords, affiliate programs, forums, rss, blogs, skype, open source, video development etc.. none of that really impresses me or is even a minor barrier.
as for freedom from the rat race factors, I do make a bit with affiliate programs and adsense here and there but nothing to really write home about.
For the most part, I've just been the work-a-day stooge that helped make miracles for others on the programming and creative side, and got little out of it (maybe I should move to India to sustain that station) but nah.
So now, I'm rebelling again, and Tim's book came along to encourage me.
He did speak my language in many ways.
So here I am on this forum.
I think what I'm still missing (and I worked this out years ago) is a workable product. That I (not the fella I work for) can make good dough using the skills I have.
I've considered drop shipping "stuff", but every drop shipper I find seems to register a 9 on the scam meter. Or has its products on webs 15000 times over.
I'd create an "expert" CD or ebook , but I can find a 1600 or more of those on all my pet subjects from different people in one search. But hey, I don't see how someone can make the money Tim claims on a body supplement either. So, in spite of my handy to others tech skills, I am just not up to the times and I need to get there.
But moreover, here are my questions that I'd like some feedback on.

1. When your "muses" resemble the hordes of mall zombies in a Tom Savini flick, how do you restore them? (ok I know the shoot them in the head trick),.

2. Ok , la la la , the Internet, how does one spot opportunity when little to nothing gets by your own personal scam filters anymore?

3. Ok, so I have an idea, but I can in-turn spend 40 seconds and find the hundreds who also had it and also have stuff about it on the net. So how does one find a muse that isn’t like just another pebble sinking in the sea?

Just a quick background on me. I create free to use websites with content and tools for people use. I use seo and viral techniques to get millions of hits.
I use adsense and other ad providers to make money. My first successful tool was a site to create and host zip files. It took me a couple hundred lines of code to write and it was successful enough to let me quit my very well paying job.

1. Well, I had a few seemingly unworkable zombie ideas running around for awhile before I finally nailed one. Keep trying. I keep re-evaluating what's popular and shifting gears to match.

2. You can't buy an opportunity. If someone is selling it to you, you're looking in the wrong place. Look for things that people want or need.

3. Don't give up when there are similar products. All three of my most successful sites had /better/ versions online when I started them.

Thanks bunches for the feedback jetpacklife. I'll keep looking. "wow" actually getting money for making zip files for folks online? handy, and brilliant! I guess I need to see through the eyes of a novice more sometimes, and not a fella who has had tons of free open source at his finger tips for ages,... It makes me think I need to interview some semi net novices to test , or evaluate the product I'm looking for to get a fresh perpective of what is of value, while I try to be free of rat raceness.
anyway, happy muses,
