Hi everyone!
Brainstorming Muse ideas and I'd like to get some feedback on one of them.
3 CD set of high-resolution photos (nature, landscapes, flowers, etc.) marketing to churches for digital backdrops. 240 photos total, CD set selling at $80 (?). That's about $.33 per image (much cheaper than most stock sites, especially for high definition quality). Many churches now use LCD projectors for everything from song lyrics to sermon outlines to announcements.

*Note* I am a pro photographer and I'd use my own photos. I have the copy right, so the only way to get my photos would be to buy the CD set. They would be licensed for non-commercial use only (not for re-sale).

Of course market testing will be the best way to tell, but do you think this sounds like a good idea? Why or why not? Is the price fair? Too high? Too low?
I'm a totally newbie when it comes to this kind of thing.
Thank-you!
Krysta

You can test market in your area. Make one, donate it to a church so they can give it a go. Ask if they'll provide feedback.

I simply don't know if there is a market or not.

I think it sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure the subject matter is right on or not. I am not involved in setting such things up, but it seems to me like many of the photos we see in the backgrounds at church have silhouettes of a cross or some other symbolic icon. So you might want to test a set of "plain" photos and test a set that have been added to.
Just a thought.

I'll have to try that out! Thanks!

I'm not too worried about pricing, and it's a nice idea. My only concern with it would be the degree to which it's really a "Muse". You may want to look into how much time you would actually have to spend putting the whole thing together and actively marketing it. However, you know more about it than me, if you think you can muse it, go head and market test it.

I like the idea. The reason I do, is it seems simple and it seems like you could implement it easily. My advice would to buy the Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords and test it out like that. I am in the process of coming out with my product, but have enjoyed some success with google adwords on my concrete company.
