I am pretty much done with my information product that I am creating. It is real estate related course that maps out a method of selling your home without a realtor. The problem is that I am a licensed realtor and I do not want the board of realtors or any of my colleagues to know that I am moonlighting as the enemy.
That brings me to my question of should I use a pen name? I fear that if I use a pen name, then I need to use that name in any related blogs I start and things can get a bit sticky.
Does anyone use a pen name and have they encountered any difficulties because of it?
Thanks.

I have a pen name for some sites and I don't think it is an issue.

The only difficulties I can think of may be trying to remember where to use the name. As far as legal issues, I am sure a simple google search will help with that.

Y not avoid that all and just sign as a faceless corporation?

Stephen King's name is not Stephen King. And there are many famous authors with pen names. The subject has been brought up here before so do a search and see what else was brought up. Some prefer to leverage their name as an expert to sell things. If they don't know who you are, it doesn't matter. But just give thought to if you establish it now will it cause an issue later regarding your ability to sell something.
Legally, I don't think it's an issue at all. But I'm a copywriter and not a lawyer.

I'm fairly certain that you have to file a DBA for your pen name. Otherwise if someone sends money or wants to conduct business with your using your pen name, there's no legal connection between it and your real name.

Bro, just use your real name, and don't be afraid. I don't think anyone's really going to hate you for it, or see it as a serious threat to their well-being. And if they do, that's not someone you wanna associate with anyways. lol

Here's a snippet:
A reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, uses his real name in his writing for a weekly newspaper, but is considering using a pen name for other work. He wrote:
"I have had heavy criticisms attached to my birth name, before my professional career [as a journalist] even started, and believe with a pen name I can have a fresh start. My question for you is this: When should a writer use a pen name? Should a writer use a pen name at all?"
