Wow,
I am so restless right now!
I've been working on a project since before The 4-Hour Workweek came out, and I've refined it down to where I believe it can be a "muse."
I'm in this mid-way-point where I tested my muse, believe it can work, registered my LLC, and now I'm on Elance trying to get someone to help develop the project.
I'm really confident in the plan, and it's really hard to keep focused at work. In fact my performance has been significantly lacking.
I almost just want to quit right now! :)
It's been a TON of work getting all of this going, and it seems completely opposite of the 4HWW principals. I've been working all day, going back home, working out, and then working on this project for almost 8 months now.
I think I'm almost there!! Wee!!
I just wanna jump ship NOW, but I think it would be smarter to already have my muse fully functional before doing so.
There's really no point in this post except to "vent" and get this out there.
I just really don't feel like I can do anything at this point and I want to keep pushing to get things done ASAP. I've already come up with my requirements for the project, submitted my documents and I've got a company "reviewing."
Now I wait...
But I want to GO!!!

I am sooooo in the same boat as you! I am lucky though in that I already work for a flexible company. I agree you shouldn't count your eggs before they hatch. You're doing a great job (on your muse LOL) I can't wait to hear how it goes. Have you done any testing yet?

Same here! Although I already had enough before I read Tim's book. I quit my corporate America job in March. I've been making a little money part time doing affiliate marketing via a few websites and I'm lucky that my wife is sticking with me while I try to make this happen. Tim's book got me even more fired up!
I'm in the muse testing stage right now and I can't get wait to get going! But yes I'm well over 4 hours per week but that's expected at first. Even Tim wrote that we worked 12 hour days 7-days a week until he built his online business up. Tim got me focused on ensuring that my muse is setup for future automation that was a piece I wasn't thinking about until I read the 4HWW.
Exciting times! :D

hahah i agree with you. im spending many hours a day reading books and writing my business plan, i have a trademark search going right now, domain names registed etc etc that i have trouble focusing at work and cant wait to just quitttttt!!!!!!!!!!
but its good for motivation too, and some days im shamelessly working on my own projects anyways :D
if my business is even half of what im hoping for i'll be making VERY good money and it can easily be automated since my manufacturer offers very reasonable fulfillment options.

If you need a partner on that gimme a yell! *wink wink nudge nudge*
hehe
I know what you guys mean. I have a 30min tube journey in the morning and evening to/from work and I spend the whole lot listening to the audio verion of 4HWW, reading the hard copy (complete with many many sticky notes all over it) and writing ideas, thoughts and plans along with the ebooks I'm filling out bit by bit :)
4HWW will eventually become a reality but as an initial investment it's pushed my "working" hours up from 45 to 50+ (excluding weekends!) trying to get things flowing :)

I think this is why Liberation comes before Automation for employees - so you can free up time for working on your muses without doing the whole 50-80 hour/week thing....

That is of course if the "L" is possible in the DELA sequence without potentially losing an excellent job with a company who pay you well, treat you well and who you like working for... :p

That is very true it's hard to liberate if you can't pay your mortgage and bills. Tim liberated himself but his online drug business was already making him 80K per month...that makes liberation a little bit easier.
I did liberate myself in March before I even read 4HWW but my employer was awful and I was miserable. But I was lucky that my wife has a good job and benefits so it makes liberation easier. :D
Plus I know can get another corporate job easily.
It's good that you like your employer so you can have a good paying job while you're working on your muse.
When I was in England I would take the tube from Bishops Stafford to London and most people were like zombies, sleeping or just staring blankly. At least you're taking the time to work on your muse and striving for the 4HWW!

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the support and encouraging replies, it sounds like a lot of us are in the same boat. And that's really cool to hear!
MiniBlueDragon, what'd you have in mind? :)
But really, I don't know how I would create a partnership in this project, I built it up around the concept that I could run this solo and hands-free. That being said, I do think that partnering with like minded people is a great idea, and can greatly expand your possibilities and speed up your progress.
Anyone read "Think and Grow Rich?" Napoleon Hill really was a fan of mastermind groups, and a lot of very successful people use them to their advantage.
To everyone,
Keep up the good work! Let's get this done!!
FREEDOM!! :)
