In the licensing .pdf of the resource section of fourhourworkweek.com, #2 states to file a provisional patent and follow it up with a one-page "Sales Sheet" (along with cold calling the large manufacturers).
I was hoping someone could help give me some insight as to what the "Sales Sheet" should contain. I imagine this is the quick sales pitch but seeing as how I have never approached a large manufacturer before, I would like the sales sheet to stand out (obviously) and I was hoping someone could help point out what should (and should not) be added to the sheet. Any suggestions?

Suggestion: GO buy and Read : How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie. All in all, these are the building blocks of human interaction, same as making a sale. Outlining benefits to others is key, Don't talk about yourself. More importantly trial and error. Post one on the forum and let us critique it, but you need to make it yourself.

it is a 8x10 sheet which gives a quick gist of what your product does. Just like an "elevator pitch," it has to be to the point, someone should be able to see it in 1min pretty much understand what the benefits of the product is.
1st start with 1-3 images of you product, "the money shot" - the image with the product in the correct angle or in action or in use.
2nd state the benefits of having the product, can be in bullet point list form or a one liner sentence. (remember be brief and to the point)
3rd (this could be 1st too) but a Name to your product, it can be catchy or descriptive
**it your product can't be explained on one sheet with the format explained above, you can try using a comic strip set up to explain your product in a linear fashion.
Other tips, add "Patent Pending" on the bottom of the pages, The Provisional patent gives you patent pending status for 12 months. Plus add you contact information on the back of the sheet. If you do mail these out remember to send more than 1 sell sheet, send about 10 so it is easy for people at the company to pass your product around. But these days, most companies work out of their email inboxes so you can just attach a pdf of your sell sheet and they can easily forward it to the correct departments.
Plus I recommend reading Stephen Key's Blog @ inventright.com (he is the case study Tim Ferriss use for licensing products )
