So. Test site is coming online soon and everything is still moving along...

Just thinking towards the end because I don't want to end up having to work 12 hour days filling orders if my muse sells insane volume.

I'm creating a package much like Tim's PX Method, any one know the basic outline on how to set it up so that once volume is high enough, I can outsource everything?

What is that type of manufacturer called? Where once the order is received through the website, it goes to the manufacturer, and then they package everything and then send it off to the customer?

Any idea on what sort of volume is needed to get to that point?

Is there another thread someplace on this subject?

It seems like all of the terms for my CPC's are .08 and less and those are position 1-3 on google. So I'll be able to really get a widespread of ads out there... and there's more than enough search volume.

It's just that anything more than 100 orders a month (4 orders per day) is much more physical 'work' than I want to do. I know it sounds lazy but the whole point is to get this automated... I have nightmare visions of having to physically fill 1,000 orders a month from my house.

Am I just missing the section in the book?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

First, you need to put in that hard work and make the business a success. Then after it is proven, you can begin to work on automation. Begin searching for fulfillment houses that can package and ship the items, and then outsource all customer service and order handling.

You want a fulfillment service company. There is one I'm going to use but I need to look it up. I have it saved in my desktop bookmarks and I'm on my laptop right now. This is fulfillment company works with a lot of the big guns in the info product world. They can work with many payment gateways like 1shopping cart meaning that when someone orders your product an email is sent with the buyers data and they mail out your product. There is an initial setup fee and then they charge a specific amount per CD/Booklet they mail out for you.

I'm going to start putting my product together myself once I see that it's moving along nicely with sales, I'll use this fulfillment company.

Related to this question, what is the difference between a fulfillment company and a drop shipper, if any?

A drop shipper is usually a manufacture who will drop ship an item for you. For example a company makes widgets. I setup a website that promotes these widgets. Someone buys a widget from website, I send the shipping details to the widget maker who then drop ships the widget to my customer.

A fulfillment services company example would be, I develop my own info product like a how to basket weave CD and how to manual. I send the audio usually as an MP3 or WAV file and the manual as a word doc to the fulfilment company. I setup my website to sell my audio CD and manual. Someone buys my CD and manual, I send the order to the fulfillment company they create the CD & manual then they ship it my customer.

Amazon now has a fulfillment service

Interesting. I wonder what their fees would be compared to regular fulfilment service company. I would prefer a smaller company that only handles fulfilment services. I have a bit of mistrust using Amazon as a fulfillment company since that would be new. They're great and I buy a ton of stuff from Amazon but they stink for small independents. My brother wrote a very successful legal book which he self-publishes and dealing with Amazon was such a pain that he stopped using them. They would only buy 2-4 books at a time and their wholesale discount was so huge that he only was making a few bucks profit and he was having to deal with mailing small orders to them all the time.

Since he won't use them they say his book is "out of print" on Amazon when it isn't it just isn't available via Amazon. :D
