Folks,

My muse is up and running nicely, orders are flowing to the tune of a few per week, Occassionally I have had customers email me to say that they have a problem ordering. One time I'm pretty sure the customer's credit card was just being rejected by PayPal for some reason, but another customer specifically told me that the "order" page would not load. It is a strange problem because I'm still getting orders.

Anyway, quick test is in order. Can you please go here:
http://www.MikeMandelHypnosis.com

and then click the "order" link" and finally click on one of the PayPal buttons to buy. Stop there. If you experience any issues, please reply to this thread.

Issues = pages not loading, or taking too long to load (such that it would annoy you as a customer), or any other issue you can identify.

Thanks for any help!
FC

I just tested it and aside from a little lag on the paypal end, it went pretty smoothly. Nice site and its awesome to hear you are getting orders.

Thanks for the tests so far.

Hey, I don't know if anyone brought this up before, but we should all do a stumbleupon / delicious social bookmarking of each other's sites.

If anyone here is using StumbleUpon or Delicious for bookmarking, I'd be very pleased if you can add http://www.MikeMandelHypnosis.com to your "I Like" list and bookmark list. Happy to do the same to share the web 2.0 love.

Maybe someone should start a thread where we can post our muses for the purpose of a web 2.0 exchange?

orders are flowing to the tune of a few per week
So you're saying a minimum of 3 sales a week. Are you losing money? breaking even or making money? What are your primary sources for marketing your site?

Storm - yeah, probably about an average of 3 per week. There are zero fixed costs aside from whatever pro-rated portion of my hosting account you want to assign to this muse. The hosting is $7.95 per month with Bluehost and I'm very happy with it. I will use it for other muses also. So yes, the business does make a profit and it has right from the very first day. There is really no way to lose money.

Some details:
- Wordpress site is hosted on Bluehost, configured with a static main page.
- PayPal for credit card payments or instant payment
- I ship product myself. Very little time involved. Just hit the mailbox or post office as needed.
- I use google adwords, but I find more than 90% of traffic is organic.
- Next step is to use aweber to capture email addresses via opt-in. I get an average of 20 visitors per day, hardly any by web business standards, but I would like to capture email addresses via a free offer (PDF manual as example) and then market more directly to the list and build a relationship with the list.

I am also working on my own product. I intend to start by selling as a physical CD (audio course) but then move quickly to an MP3 download, and perhaps even put it up on an affiliate network. My sense is that it is better to give up 75% of the revenue to have 100x the sales opportunity.
