My first dream mini-retirement

Buy a Yamaha Raider motorcycle and go cross country from NYC to the West Coast and then back. I have wanted to do that since I was a kid.

I hope you have a Things To Do and Be Before I Die list. I found out most of my desires are not only doable, but also pretty easy to accomplish with enough cash and time on my hands, which hopefully Iwill have soon. Good luck.

Thanks. I have two teenagers so that makes a trip more expensive. But soon they'll be in college and I can do just what I said. I can even take my laptop with me.

You need to trust them more. When I was 15 I took off for2 weeks with my 2 best friends and we spend it camping on a beach in my home country. No parents, no adults to supervise us. It was the greatest experience in my life.

That's true. It's just expensive to fly there right now. But after next year my youngest won't be in private school and I think they'd really enjoy it. I think we'd try Vienna or Germany first. I speak some German, enough to get by, and I have friends over there which would make it fun for the boys.

mine would be to spend 3 months in Paris and Barcelona to learn and be fully immersed in the French and Spanish language/culture! :)

Will it ever happen? Dammit it's my dream so I am doing everything I can to make it happen and I will not stop until either my dreams change or I do it.
