Hi Everyone,

My muse has been running for 5 days now with somewhat dismal results. Would you please let me know your opinion? Feel free to be blunt or whatever. How does the website make you feel? Does it appear to be a premium product? Does it appear credible? Does the copy grab you? Do the visuals appeal to you? What do you like? What do you not like?

I really appreciate your help! --sincerely Jawohl.

I don't really know much about opera but here's my advice.

It seems that the market you are going after is the very high end one. Although the website layout is fairly concise I feel that your market might like something a little bit more minamalist. Give it that "red-carpet" feel.

Interesting niche market.

Perhaps if you identify the key audience at the top, it could make the product less confusing. I'm assuming the 2 key audience groups are opera singers themselves as well as audience members who can enhance their listening experience by knowing these secrets? And maybe there's some gossip also that they get from the CDs?

A small note.. you have the word 'anoyone' in that page which is not a word.

Two things - I would make it look MORE 'red-carpet', not more simple.

I think you can accomplish a polished, high-end look and feel and not sacrifice the content with some judicious use of graphics. For instance, the buttons need some polish.

I am curious as to which software/ shopping cart you are using.

I recently purchased one that is giving good results.

Thanks and good luck!

William

Honestly,
I have no idea what your product is about. It doesn't catch attention and if it is not clear within the first couple of sentences than you are toast. I almost read the entire thing and still can't really understand what you are selling.

A lot of the photos of people look like stock images. And like Anton said, it's not clear what you are selling. You have 8 seconds.

This might help and there is also a recent case study on the site.

Make it clear blog post. (http://webpreppro.com/blog/index.php/2008/02/24/you-have-8-seconds-is-it-clear-what-you-are-offering/)

Your order page (http://www.operasecrets.com/oscheckout/) is unencrypted, meaning it does not start with https. For a lot of people this will mean your site is a security risk and is not very credible. I know I would never input my credit card number on a non-secure site. This is a huge problem as it will scare off a lot of people who would actually make it to the order page.
