the provisional patent has come back and i have a unique instrument with a patent pending title. i have an idea of the manufactures i would like to contack but not shure what steps to take
any ideas on what next steps i should take? or any input about manufactures overseas?
if you have been through this process or have any knowledge on this subject would appreciate help.
Need more input. Market, quantities, kind of product....

the product is a new application for chapstick. the TM would be geared towards highschool and college students. not shure where to take it from here. have a prototype, but do not know ecactly what manufactures i want to contact
any suggestions about magazine advertisment. a consultation with a lawyer?
in the process of building a website and a sellsheet..
It seem that you realy have no clue where to start :-).
But with this info, neither do I. What's a Chapstick? What is different, why buy it? What is it made of? WHAT QUANTIES IN THE MARKET?
If you want a serious answer from me I need serious input.
Right now it seems you have patented an Idea, not a product. An Idea is worth nothing. That is, unless you are an incredible salesperson...

My suggestion will be to find a way to make a prototype and then try and license the product to companies that deal with cosmetics, like the Guthy-Renker thing suggested in the book.
I think, trying to create a product with possible retail distribution, marketing, etc, is going to be too big of a fish for anyone to fry.
I don't see huge demand for such a product (unless you have done your marketing research) existing already, more likely a demand has to be created. You won't be able to price this anymore than $1-2 and selling this yourself would be close to impossible. Licensing is the best option in my opinion. You will get a commission, while letting others with more resources worry about market penetration, distribution, advertising, etc.
Good luck.
