I'm in need of some cash, so I was looking on career builder.
There are crap loads of data entry jobs that seem to promise a decent sum of money.
So has anyone tried any of these jobs? Not very 4HWW, but I NEED money. Thank you.

Ignore data entry. They are scams. Got that tip from the hundreds of posts on paydotcom forum. Try elance or Craig's List. Skip the hype ones. There is no easy money only people making money off of others trying to tempt them with easy money.

Career builder and most other employment sites are populated by an overwhelming number of posts by staffing companies, other job referral type companies looking for people to pay to be in their job seeker database (scam), or MLM's (scam). There are no stats on the success rate of job seekers finding real jobs on those sites, but I would guess the percentage is not that high.
In finding an actual steady paying job, most of the time it really is about who you know.
What's your background, what are your skills? Maybe one of us can point you in the right direction, or at least a better one.

A few months back I was fired and looking for a job, needed a quick way to make cash online while waiting for job offers. I found rentacoder.com; luckily I am an experienced developer, however this site also has jobs for data entry and all sorts of other things. No scams, you don't do any work until the buyer has put the money agreed upon into escrow with rentacoder. The only way you don't get paid is if you don't do the job right, or the buyer is scamming you in which case you can arbitrate them and if they truly were scamming you, you get their money anyway. It doesn't pay enough to make a good living in the long run, but is a great way to get through a rough patch.
p.s.
doing work on rentacoder.com, elance.com, and guru.com was how I found the 4hww.

That is a reputable site. Great advice. I did not know it worked through escrow.
