So I've had my fair share of entrepreneurial blunders. You name it I've tried it:
*multi-level marketing (pre paid legal)
*mystery shopping
*creative real estate investing
I've been a complete failure. I kept jumping at the next thing that people were talking about until I came to a realization...Everything in life takes hard, smart work. Just because other are saying they're making money doesn't mean that you automatically will. In most cases, they're making money because they got in before the market got saturated and copy-cats jumped onboard. These people know that there are no shortcuts and they expected to be met with much resistance. I read about people trying to increase traffic to their blog, but every successful blogger will tell you that no matter what technique, hack, or trick you use, there's no substitute for providing consistently good material.
With that in mind, I have a much more realistic (and resilient) attitude towards my muse. I currently have an offshore software development business that I started in college. I didn't do much with it during my "get rich quick" mentality, but have dedicated myself to it and the results have been great.
Since I'm stupid, and most of you are smart, I'm interested in knowing what obstacles and roadblocks you encountered when starting your muse. I'm sure money didn't fall in your lap from the sky. I'm interested in your challenges, and how you overcame them. What did you have to go through before you finally turned the corner and built a profitable muse?
