Hi all,
I've got an idea for a website and was hoping someone could tell me how to get it running without hiring someone. I'm not very knowledgable able building websites, but I'm starting on the cheap and I'm interested in learning.
I'm looking to do a no frills classified type webpage similar in design/appearance to, but wholly different than Craigslist.
Any recomendations?
Thanks

if you're muse testing - keep it simple!
if you use 1&1 (http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=17184552) as a host say, they have inbuilt website/template systems that are 1 click to install. including mambo/joomla/wordpress.etc.
one site i made (now down :() is archived here (http://web.archive.org/web/20070102043914/http://www.scalibags.com.au/)to give you an idea of how simple and easy you can make things in a short time.

BTW Ali.... not too long ago the Japanese government decided they would start photographing and finger printing non-citizens entering the country even if these people were just tourists. The Japanese government would be free to do whatever they want with this information including distributing it to other countries without your permission. Do you know if it's still being enforced or how to avoid having them keep your personal information?

Also check out TemplateMonster.com free templates
It is being enforced, but I have nothing to hide so I'm not all that pissed.
