Hi. I'm here with the finished book by my side. It was quite surreal to read the beginning when Tim starts speaking of what the New Rich are, and the definitions and all that, finding me just jumping around saying "This is it! this is friggin it!" because he managed to verbalize many things i had rolling around on my head before, it was awesome to see all that in paper before me (plus it's a good thing that i was alone in my room because anybody else may have thought i was nuts :D )

Have to tackle many questions and do the work (formally finishing the dreamlines in paper and not just in my mind is the first one), but the thing that stuck the most on my head is that this seems so... gringo to me. I'm from Colombia, and not even from the country's capital. My mom raised my sister and me alone after my father left us, so thorough my life all I've known is economical hardships. I find it a bit difficult to internalize the fact that the kind of life he mentions could be made as somebody from here. For example we don't even have the ability to get money from paypal, which you gringos and other first-world guys take now for granted, and last time i checked (it was a while ago though) getting payments online with local banking was nothing you could do from home. Also, since our country has a (not well deserved) reputation of being home of the drug-dealers of the world it's quite difficult to leave for somewhere else even for a visit (point in case, my mom couldn't be there when my sister had the twins, they're a year old now and she still hasn't been able to visit them in Spain where she lives with her Spaniard husband).

So, any suggestions? any of you guys from here? Do i have a chance? I'm not even dreaming of US$40K a month, just want out of the rat race (if i have to continue programming in Cobol I'll go nuts), plus some travel thrown in...

Another thing, specifically on the muse thing. As i was reading, i noted Tim's advice of thinking the groups I'm already part of, and thinking of a product there. Then i noticed that mostly out of necessity I'm part of groups that have in common that they're cheap. Japanese animation fan, there's downloadable everything from the net (yes, i know about the conventions and hundreds of dollars in merchandise spent per fan, but that doesn't exist in here and that merchandise is physical and has to be officially licensed, plus has to be exhibited in there and not just on a website, although there may be something here). I'm a free software guy (there can be something here, but i don't think anybody has figured out yet how joe average linux guy could make money from this outside of being Mr. Techie Fix-It-all by the hour, which is not what we want). Plus may other interests, all which have in common that i'm not paying to the teeth to be in them. Any suggestions? I do know i have a bit of a blind spot for business (part of the reason i'm attracted to this is because i just wanna forget completely about money, just know that i have more than enough and that everything i need plus the dreamlines are being taken care of), but i don't think it's that obvious for now. Hopefully just writing this down will be enough to plant some seed on my subconscious that will bloom overnight :D
