Hey guys,
I've read the book about 2 months ago, and just decided to check out the 'reader only freebies' offered by Tim. After trawling this site for the last 2 hours (Its 4am here- yes I'm tired but my biological clock is stuffed for now) I thought what the hell, I'll drop in to introduce myself. So how's it goin'? =)
I'm a uni student studying in a B. Pharmacy degree with about 18 months or so to go before I'm done, then ANOTHER 12 months of sub-standard pay rates till I achieve full licensing. That said, as a fully licensed pharmacist in Australia you get paid around the $40 per hour figure or 80k per year which isn't too bad.
My problem is, well, the processes which a pharmacist perform are repetitive and this has lead to doubt as to whether this is my future. I don't see myself doing this for the rest of my life or for any extended period exceeding 3 months at a time (of full 45-60hr/week workload). I will still complete the degree, as it IS flexible and pays well enough to be 'something to fall back on'.
At the moment I'm working the odd shift in the local pharmacy and making about 150$ per week. I spend about 20 bucks per week in petrol, and I'm needing to start paying $100 in rent very soon (to help out with repayments).
So this isn't sustainable.
Before the year ends I aim to be making 1000$++/per week just to cover living costs, pay the rent (and then some), and possibly a year end holiday to Japan.
So any ideas on how to generate that type of income?
Things I've been doing so far:
1. I've recently been selling items on Ebay, which have been lying around the house. I've been managing about $100 per week, but I'll need to start buying off wholesalers soon as I'm running out of things to sell.
2. Working the 8 or so hours 150$
3. If nothing comes up before the uni starts, I'll get another 2 days or 3 night part time job to supplement another 200$ per week income
4. I've been testing out blogging and some affiliate marketing. The blogging was only a 'test' to get me educated about the basics of domain aquirement, hosting, basic programming( i use wordpress) and basic ad-sense monetisation skills.
As to the affiliate marketing I joined Pepperjamnetwork, and created another website aiming to promote its products using wordpress.
So far I've achieved 1 lead worth 3.5$ US and spent 25$AUD on adwords!
(I could use some advice here too)
Thanks for reading that messy bit of rant, and I'd very much appreciate any advice you can offer!
P.S. If there is anyone in the Sydney area looking for a motivated, young, clean, well-dressed, and with a brain type individual to employ- I'm willing to learn, and you know what? You dont even need to pay me during the trial period as I'm learning something new and worthwhile! Just bump me a msg.
Thanks again.
