I, like many here, am very excited about how 4hww laid out some principles that are really moving me to take the plunge. I have a very strong product in a growing niche market that I know will sell well through ppc and some guerilla marketing. Last year, I walked into a lot of places and asked what they thought and everyone said they have people who would buy it. I was too focused on how I was going to distribute in traditional method though. I have have sat on this over a year, because the product is not perfect. I was looking for someone to help me get it just right. It will sell, for very nice ROI, but I really doubt many repeat customers. It is not a ripoff at all, it just needs some more tweaking before being perfect. I am really thinking of just going through the steps and launch it anyways. I can then take the revenue and reinvest in either this product or something else. If I wait I may be in same spot 5 years from now. Go for it as is (btw, I can do ALL the manufacturing & packaging on my kitchen table) or really try to get it as close to perfect as I can?

Suggest marketing the idea via one page sales pitch
Instead of you just selling it sell your idea franchise it to parts of the US that are not in your market
Just an idea
Otherwise go for it remember sell at your the price you want and will make money at
Example 12 at 12 144
Versus 144 at 1 144
The work is totally different and sales approach is different
Peace and good luck:cool:

Rashamba,
Try to make your product the best quality possible,to minimize refunds/returns.The last thing you want starting out is a bad rep for inferior
product. Also use affiliates to help produce more sales.Offer customers a%
of sales to promote to others. Leveraging other people across the USA is the fastest way to grow sales if your product gets accepted in the marketplace.
Also be sure to have a follow-up product to sell customers, either your own or another as an affiliate so you can keep getting continuity. After you get going and sales are brisk, your customer list will be your best asset. If your product can be sold locally, try asking retailers you mentioned to carry product on consignment or commission sale. Seek out free publicity by sending local and national press releases.See sources in Tim's book. All the best.

It can't possibly be perfect, so there's no point in waiting. You can do your "best" to get it out there, but use Tim's principle of setting a deadline (well, not his principle, but it's in the book) so that you get the job done, and once it's done, consider it like you've submitted an entry into a contest - it's done, and now you have to act.

I repeat: do NOT think it has to be perfect before you start testing or launching. It can NOT be perfect.

I'm being strong on this because I know that if I had the same attitude, I wouldn't get anything done. Perfection is an illusion; optimization is the goal. Just launch, get feedback, optimize, before you start doubting yourself, because that's the only real thing to avoid.
