One of the drop shippers I am looking to work with requires a letter of credit. While I see why they are doing this, I am wondering if others have run into filing a letter of credit. It is actually a bit of a pain getting one from my bank and it's a very unexpected expense. If any of you have run into the same situation, are there ways around the letter of credit? Also, do most/all drop shippers make this a mandatory part of their processes? Finally, if you have found a reliable drop shipper that does not require this and could make a recommendation, that would be outstanding - Thanks.

Ryan,
What drop-shipper are you working with that requires this? Most companies will just take your order and accept credit card or paypal. You get the order
from the customer and then pay the company, who ships to your customer.
Should be no big deal. Check on the search engines for wholesale sources
of the particular product you market. There should be plenty. Unless you're
buying on credit terms or want 60-90 day invoicing,a credit letter should not be necessary. Hope this helps.
