Where are the Bonus Materials?
I bought the book and read it. Its GREAT and worth much more than its price. Dont think about it and just buy it! I began implementing some of the weight loss suggestions even before finishing the book. Tim really breaks it down to make it easy.
However, the book list numerous Bonus Material (Removing Stubborn Thigh Fat, etc.) available on the website using passwords hidden in the book (like he did with the 4HWW), but I cant find them anywhere on the web.

I am really looking forward to reading your book, I was one of the first to pre-order your book through amazon months ago (within a minute after your request) but now I feel a bit sad…
Not only has the price come down since then (I am paying 24 dollars + shipping according to Amazon) but also the delivery time has been growing out of proportion. Normally I am very content with their standard shipping, but now I am informed that I will get your book somewhere in the last half of January 2011. Is there some difference in the Amazon batch between the pre-ordered ones and the normally ordered ones? Frankly, running to my local bookstore to get it seems like a far better deal than pre-ordering….
I know this is not your fault and you cannot help this but I felt the need to post it somewhere…. I just want to read your book and start my new fitness regime next year 😀

Why the hell is amazon so slow on sending this book!! I want to have it right now. Amazon will send it to me on saturday the 18th, but I bought it a few months ago. Damn it!

Starting reading the book today on my Kindle & so far it’s fascinating (as a phsycian & a fan of informatics/outliers).
Minor comment in ref to Location 748 (kindle ref) where you say: “That is, if you’re a critical intervention patient, such as a morbidly obese type 1 diabetic”. Most type 1 diabetics are not morbidly obese & in fact are thin and young at onset of the disease. As I’m sure you know, type 1 DM is autoimmune & not associated w/obesity, as is type 2 DM. So, your example seems more plausibly to refer to someone with type 2 DM?

Where do we post questions/errata regarding 4HB? e.g. the chart on pg 180 does not include a listing for myotatic crunch, thus there is no comparison between it and the other crunch types. Or is the EMG for myotatic crunch listed elsewhere?

The first time I read this I saw “FREE digital PDF copy of The 4-Hour Body.” Oops.
Apparently that was just wishful thinking since it actually says pdf of the 4HWW (which I own both the hardbound AND kindle version of already.)

I Discovered a hack in my university’s webmail that allows me to send an email from any email address therefore granting me access to the entire university Listserv.

The trailer by Epipheo is really good! I’m going to get the book either way, but for people who are undecided, that kind of fun explanation of what the book is about could be very convincing.

Already bought (in Sept) a signed copy and I can’t wait to read it! My only issue, and it is kind of big. Is that had to buy the signed edition from Barnes & Noble. I would have rather bought it from Amazon. I dislike BN.
Ok, so I got the book,, I have not had a chance to read it all of course but I’m a little confused… My goal was to lose weight and add muscle. I’m 5’7 185 lbs. My goal weight is 155 to 160 with an Athletic build. I read the lose 20lbs section and part of the muscle gain section. It seems like they offer 2 different diets? I’m also a little confused about the weight training part. Any chance you could break it down for me? What is most effective for me and anyone else that’s looking for a similar build. I’ll continue to read of course but I just couldn’t wait to get to the sections I felt applied most to me.
Also, I sent you pic of receipt and a little worried the pic was too small lol=P

So I go on Amazon.com and find 96 reviews: 94 five star reviews 1 four star review and 1 one star review. I refresh the page and the 1 star review disappeared. WTF is this? Are you censoring your book’s reviews?

Nope, I’m not censoring my reviews. I have no power to do so. Here’s what I suspect happened is the following, as I saw it with my last release. If a review was “This is fake! How could 50 reviews come out on the first day!” with a 1-star review (Answer: review and advanced copies), if enough people flag it as “inappropriate”, it gets reviewed. This “This is fake! These comments are fake!” is not a review of the book, the review then gets removed.
I’m running around and am barely online this week due to media, etc. I don’t have the power (nor inclination) to delete 1-star reviews. There are a few more up now anyway 🙂

There are trolls on Amazon.com and launching the blog collecting deleted negative reviews. Good thing there is a reply button where it give me an opportunity to defend the 4HB integrity.
Those accusations they made are based on baseless facts. When my books arrive from BN and I will make sure to give a honest review which I hope to balance out.
Okay so I trust your ass 100%. You are the living proof-nothing is more of a guarantee than that. I ordered my 3 books (gave out two and read from mine to countless ears)and i am a big vlogger since last year when i went on HCG–I’m no superstar but some of my videos have like 6000 hits so I totally made a video today (mostly to the HCG diet community-which is quite large) just letting them know there is something new that also targets fat loss quickly and lets us chow down frequently!

I started diet yesterday. beans scared me because I have been conditioned to think they are “too carby” and would make me hungry-but i always loved beans -so thanks for bringing them back into my life. i expect outrageous results-very excited.

That Trailer is Strong to Very Strong.
I was skeptical at first thinking this was yet another fitness book to dupe people to buying for the holidays. However, the stuff on kettlebells is true. I have been teaching kettlebells as a personal trainer and have used them myself to get results. Of course, it is important to have an instructor who is knowledgeable. While, as the book says, the swing gets you places, there is so much more to kettlebells that can get your way more results.
Women love kettlebell training because it does make them stronger, faster. The instantaneous loading of the upper body at the top of the swing forces the body to do something it would not normally do – lift a heavier weight than it thinks it can.
I have yet to read the rest of the book and verify.
Congrats on the book coming out. Unfortunately I’m not in the US so cant help you out with the launch, but will be picking up a kindle copy 🙂 Very excited to read it!

The “Land Rush” promotion did seem to be a bit… rushed. I know you are a big fan of time constraints. But this time I think the promotion ended a bit too soon, before the buying momentum could properly peak. Because the last promotion was so strict on the deadline, I don’t know if we can get the momentum going again in 48 Hours. Because most people thought the last deadline was the true deadline, I’m getting negative responses from people who kind of feel cheated for participating in the last promo. They bought the books thinking there was going to be only one promotion, and now that there is a second(almost identical) promotion they are getting buyers remorse big time! some are talking refunds. The high excitement that drove people to the Land Rush is in small part turning against the book.
It might be a good idea to extend it to Sunday.
It also depends on how much momentum you can build from your party tonight! Pump up the volume! (I know that was a bit… lame)

Just dug into this a little bit more. Here’s Seth Roberts’ take on it (http://www.blog.sethroberts.net/2009/11/22/splenda-reduces-gut-bacteria-in-rats/):
“More The makers of Splenda issued a press release that could not be less convincing. The study, it says, has “major deficiencies” that include “a lack of appropriate control groups necessary for understanding results.” No statement of what those control groups are. The press release also claims that because the investigators did not measure food and water intake, the results are meaningless! The idiotic press release is made even more curious by the statement quoted in the comments below, that “Drs. Abou-Donia and Schiffman admitted that some of the results recorded in their report submitted to the court were not actually observed or were based on experiments that had not been conducted.” But these, too, are not described. Which means to me that the details are not on Splenda’s side, or they would have been presented. It sounds like really bad news for Splenda.”
While the press release is no longer available online, the quotes seem almost identical to the ones listed in the articles submitted by your commenter.
Also, I wend directly to the panel’s published findings at PubMed (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19567260):
“The Expert Panel found that the study was deficient in several critical areas and that its results cannot be interpreted as evidence that either Splenda, or sucralose, produced adverse effects in male rats, including effects on gastrointestinal microflora, body weight, CYP450 and P-gp activity, and nutrient and drug absorption.”
But again, it doesn’t say what the “critical areas” are that are deficient, and it’s published under the ominous-sounding affiliation of “Independent Consultant.”
**Bottom line – your text stands, leave it as is.**

Tim, the Kindle edition isn’t available in Australia. Is that your choice or Amazon’s, or someone else? Is there any way that can be fixed?!
Second this – I would like to support your book but the Kindle version is not available in Australia yet. I’m sure it’ll all be resolved soon, but its a little annoying that (paid for) digital content is delayed and can’t be made available simultaneously and globally in this day and age.

I ordered my book straight from the US store, but I had to wait for Pacific time in the US in order to do it (I’m in Japan at the moment). Have you tried ordering/can you order from the US store?
There sure is. You just change your Kindle’s address to a fake European or American address, if you’re doing it through the device. Or buy it on your Amazon account on the website.
You can buy kindle versions from amazon.com even if you’re outside of US (at least it works for me and I’m in Canada)

Here’s my kindle workaround…ordered the kindle book from Australia 2 hours ago without a problem
1. Grab a copy of hotspot shield (free) – its an anonymous proxy/browsing tool that once connected Amazon will no longer detect you’re not in the US

2. Search “tim ferriss kindle” in google and the amazon 4hb book link should be in position 2-3, click on to open up (kindle book wont show in amazon search results outside US)
3. If you have a non-US amazon account it will still say in the right hand sidebar “title not available in blablabla”. About an inch underneath that it has a link that says something like “moved country recently” or similar, click that
(*this link didnt show until I had hotspotshield activated)
4. You’ll then be given the option to change the address your Kindle is associated with. I used a real US based address I grabbed off a website online
5. Once I changed my kindle address, I was able to purchase the book using one-click-checkout and it downloaded to Kindle on ipad without an issue.
***This doesn’t seem to affect regular purchases as put an order through after that to test and went through fine to my regular Sydney shipping address.

I am in Australia and have a work around for buying the kindle edition through Amazon that is SUPER easy.
1. Download Hotspot Shield for free and install
2. Delete all cookies on your computer and restart your browser
3. Turn on Hotspot shield (this will make amazon think your computer is in the USA by giving you a US IP address)
4. Log into Amazon and change your address to a US address (a fake one is fine)
5. Buy the book (kindle edition) …. SIMPLE
Took me 5 minutes and I am now half way through after 2 days and frantically trying to figure out to reverse my shoulder, sternum and color bone aches.
Going to try ART in Sydney!

hello tim & community, hopefully this is the best/most ethical way to contact you as per your contact page. i am a 31 yr old male living in the bay area, very ill with unspecified auto-immune-like conditions. i eat paleo, and take way too many supplements at the behest of my doctor. i read & study obsessively, but due to my health issues i cannot say that i am successful in any exciting way. i hope that your book will give me some ideas about what i can do to heal, but at this point, years of struggling against an invisible force, i am prone to pessimism.
Tim, in your book-buying-prize contest you mentioned a full body testing that isn’t available to the public. is there any way i can attain this testing? i am willing to be a transparent case study, and its probably obvious that i am not wealthy enough to afford this on my own. one of the side effects of my condition is lack of humor and creativity as my brain isn’t operating 100% yet, so i haven’t been able to come up with a way to monetize/fund my healing.

Why not go read The Paleo Solution and/or post a question for Robb Wolf’s podcast? I think most if not all auto-immune diseases can be cured by doing a 30-day strict Paleo diet (Paleo + no eggs, no nuts, no nightshades).
There are a ton of similar questions already answered in the podcast archives over there.
