Let Me Promote Your Product (or Location) to Millions

(Photo: Matthew Field)

[UPDATE: We have all of the products we need at this time. Thanks so much!]

This post will be short and sweet.

The book launch for The 4-Hour Body, the follow-up to The 4-Hour Workweek (#1 NY Times, 35 languages), will be enormous. There will be big media, incredible partnerships, never-before-seen experiments, and much, much more.

Here are two things I’m looking to add to the mix:

– Giveaway products or services.

– Party location in NYC for a huge launch party the week of Dec. 13. Minimum 400-1,000 people.

Now, the details…

Giveaway products or services

OPTION A: VIP gift

I will be having VIP parties for the launch, as well as mailing copies to celebs and “influencers” (as much as I hate that word, it’s accurate). Here’s a sample pic from my last party, held on a warship in SF bay, featuring me, Kevin Rose, and Paula Abdul. The 4-Hour Body recipients will be a very good group to get in front of.

In both cases (parties and mailings), I’d like to include cool products that would complement the book. Might your product fit?

Click here to submit your product!

OPTION B: Promoted on the blog

I will be promoting The 4-Hour Body on this blog, which is currently about the 1,600th most popular website in the United States, according to Alexa, and tracked by media ranging from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal to Inc. Magazine and others.

I will be offering bonuses to people who buy multiple copies of The 4-Hour Body, much like Gary Vaynerchuck does here. Bonuses could include physical goods, digital services (no e-books, please), subscriptions, experiences (world travel, lodging, etc.), or just about anything.

I’ll be promoting the hell out of any bonuses. This is cheap marketing when you consider alternative means of reaching 1,000,000+ qualified unique readers. Check out the advertising rate card for Men’s Health, as one example. Important to also keep in mind: print doesn’t allow for impulse purchases… this blog does.

It’ll be a blast for everyone, especially the recipients. I’m hoping to go nuts.

Party location in NYC

I am planning on having a killer party in NYC for 400-1,000 people the week of Dec. 13, probably between Wed-Sunday. From 7pm or 8pm until whenever. Tons of promo, celeb/VIP guests, invited media and journalists… the works.

Do you have the perfect location? Do you know someone who runs the perfect location? Please let me know.

I’ve done big parties around the world: San Francisco, London, Sydney, and Cape Town come to mind. All of them have been partnerships, ranging from the successful Merivale chain (Sydney) to Richard Branson’s Virgin Group (Cape Town, just before the World Cup).

What the venue gets:

– Massive PR before, during, and after the event; hundreds of people taking pictures, Tweeting, etc.

– All bar revenue for drinks, etc.

What I’m looking for: a cool venue that’s willing to host the party at little or no cost in exchange for the above.

Click here to submit your venue!

NOTE: Please don’t fill out this form to suggest venues. If you know someone who owns/runs a good venue, please forward them the link. It will simply get too messy otherwise.

Thanks!

QOD

Question of the day: what type of bonuses and prizes would you like to see for multi-copy/volume purchases of The 4-Hour Body? Crazy or outlandish is fine, as long as it’s something you’d actually enjoy.

Let me know in the comments!

Odds and Ends: Footage of Zero-G with James Cameron, director of Avatar, Titanic, etc.

Some of you might recall the auction I held for a zero-gravity flight with a small group including James Cameron, Jim Gianopoulos (Fox Films Chairman/CEO), Peter Diamandis (X PRIZE Foundation Founder and Chairman), and yours truly.

There have been a number of requests for video footage, so here it is.

All of the footage was taken with a tiny water-proof GoPro HD camera (not an affiliate link), which provides an incredible bang for the buck (around $260):

I say you give away a “date.” Afterall didn’t you at one time outsource your dating life – now with a certain purchase level someone buys a date and the date is something cool – as if you were an auctioned off bachelor. Tango lessons, language over coffee/tea, trivia night at the pub. BTW the Armory would have been a cool venue because you could play off of the word as in “Arm Yourself”.

Oh!! I just found an old journal of mine and it had a little side “to-do list” and it said “Finish reading The 4 Hour Work Week” dated Sept 7th, 2009. (don’t believe me? I can take a pic)

It’s been a little bit more than a year since I found your stuff, you’ve introduced me to great thinkers, great ideas and made a huge difference in my life. Just wanted to drop by and say what’s up. Although I don’t work 4 hours a week, your take on life made me see things differently and made me make different choices and made me a happier person. Who knew a book called 4 hour workweek would’ve made me more passionate about my craft.

The 4 Hour Body is gonna be huge. Such a long wait, fool!

Thank you, Tim.

The scary thing about the 4 hour work week is that my competition could buy it from a shop and read it, which would be a big downer !

I’ve filled out the form as well now. My premium WordPress themes business may not be strictly on target, but how many of your readers pour hours of their time into writing their own blogs? Just looking through the comments here, it seems a lot, and this could be a big upgrade for them.

Not really ideal for the launch parties I think, but for the sales on this blog? I sure hope so!

(Been a massive fan of your book and this blog for years now though, so that’s the main reason I wanted to get involved! Best of luck with the launch! 🙂 )

Tim,

Thank you for having Charlie get back to me. He’s legit! Don’t I feel silly (blush) 🙂

Have a lovely day and thank you very much for the book!

I agree with most other people. Extremely valuable to me would be:

1) A one-hour 1:1 consult with Tim about business

2) A one-hour 1:1 personal training session and nutritional tips

I’ll definitely be getting the book!

Hey Tim, quick question. I received an email from “Charlie Hoehn” on your behalf. I just wanted to make sure this was legit before I submit any information to an unknown. Thanks for the help.

See Tim, I’m not the only one who thinks Charlie is sketchy 😉

answered some emails, delegated a ton of work and did a deal to avoid doing something I don’t like for something I do like

I learnt it all from Tim

Must admit, enjoyed having the afternoon off and the crisp Autumn air in Merrion Square Gardens, beloved gardens of Oscar Wilde, don’t ya know

You too can reduce work hours, enjoy what you do, have a great time….but…first, you have to read ‘the four hour work week’ by tim ferris 🙂

If anyone wants 1-on-1 time with Tim, I suggest going to any small event he is speaking at. This past weekend he was completely open to all questions during the Q&A, and gave plenty of people 1-on-1 advice after, myself included. A really nice and chatty guy.

Great meeting you at the CF event. Good luck with the book launch!

Thanks, Frank! Nice to meet you, too. Good advice, also. I’m happy to chat if people can catch me with some breathing room. In contrast, larger events are really hard.

Oh! Another thing that would be cool as a prize is one-on-one coaching/documentation for the lucky winner… kind of like the Physique Clinic that Shugart and Thibedeau used to do on TN but without pumping people full of supplements; just following the principles in the book.

Will you be having any small speaking events in Los Angeles anytime soon Tim?

Exclusivity is the Prize.

Get the winner into A-List events that only fame can get you into. ie backstage at an awards ceremony and an invite to a celeb after party…

Hey Tim,

I have a sick venue in NYC right in the heart of the city (28th and Park). It’s a rooftop bar on top of the Gansevoort Hotel. I’m friends with the owner and they’re standing by waiting for details. Let me know and we’ll make it happen!

Tim –

I saw your post last week, but just got the finishing touches on my site! Take a quick look to see why it’s a perfect fit for both of your books.

Complete a Marathon in just 10 weeks (dvd).

Thanks!

Hey Tim,

click on my link. My product (though I know too late for last submission) won Dan Kennedy’s Entrepreneur of the Year for developing it.

Love to have your input bro.

I guess I am a little late to the game on this one. The link no longer seems to work. 🙁 I have some weird body stunts (glass walking and razor blade swallowing) that I think would be great at the party, but I guess that could be a stretch.

Tim,

you rock. What can I say. I have been fumbling my way to NL, just didn’t know that’s what it was called.

I charge $500/hour for business coaching, but my time is worth pennies compared to the wisdom you share.

Cheers dude!

This one’s for you!

Thanks for your article. I would also like to say that your health insurance brokerage service also works for the benefit of the actual coordinators of a group insurance plan. The health broker is given a long list of benefits desired by someone or a group coordinator. What a broker can is find individuals as well as coordinators which usually best match those requirements. Then he gifts his tips and if both parties agree, the broker formulates a binding agreement between the 2 parties.
